Overview

Philippine Financial Industry Pride (PFIP) is a collaborative, voluntary, and non-profit community of practice composed of dedicated representatives from LGBT+ Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) or Human Resource / Diversity teams of the financial services industry. PFIP aims to foster an industry that is safe and inclusive for LGBT+. The Pride Summit 2018, is a full-day conference organized by the Philippine Financial Industry Pride (PFIP), supported by the Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ANZCham).

Fern Ngai, CEO Community Business spoke during two sessions at PFIP: 

  • Global Inclusion of LGBT+ with H.E. David Strachan & Warren Mucci and moderated by Tes Veloso of Thomson Reuters
  • Benchmarking & the LGBT+ Index 

Tina Arcilla, Senior Manager - DIAN at Communtiy Busines led a breakout session entitled 'the Power of Employee Network Experiences in Asia'. 

Highlights and Key Takeaways include: 

  • Overview of the business case for D&I 
  • Employee Networks: from Affinity Groups to Buisness Resource Groups (BRGs)
  • Noted that there is a need for a clear vision and strategy for establishing and running employee networks or any other D&I initiative
  • Employee networks should support D&I and business goals.
