2023 Stress Awareness Month Initiatives

SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing

Overview

Stress Awareness Month has been held every April globally for over 30 years and aims to normalise and create opportunities to have open conversations on the impact of stress to our friends, colleagues and family. Stress and poor mental health are one of the biggest public health challenges we face and it is important that organisations are aware of how they can best support their employees when it comes to stress.

This year for Stress Awareness Month, Community Business has planned a 30-day activity calendar filled with stress reduction activities that you can try out which relate to Mental, Physical and Social Wellbeing. Also, to support the goal of having open conversations about stress, we are hosting a series of 3 live webinars with expert speakers in the fields of Mental, Physical and Financial Stress.

Webinar Series

We have 3 Live Webinars covering 3 focus areas of stress; Mental, Physical and Financial Stress. We have invited experts in their respected fields to talk us through their experience, knowledge and research to increase our levels of awareness through different perspectives on stress all through an Asia lens.

Tue 18 Apr: Managing Mental Stress
Guest speaker: Dr. Esslin Terrighena, Chartered Psychologist and Registered Psychotherapist, CMHA HK

Wed 19 Apr: The Impact of Stress on our Bodies: A Focus on Hybrid Working
Guest speaker: Andrew Cox, Director of Training, Joint Dynamics

Thu 20 Apr: Exploring Financial Stress in APAC
Guest speakers: Hellena Wang, Associate Director, Wellbeing Solutions APAC, AON and Paul Gordon, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Financial Wellbeing, AON

We will discuss how we define stress, what stress looks like, how does it impact the individual and how it effects their work and personal life. We aim to also provide useful tips and takeaway activities that individuals can apply to their own lives but also we will provide advice and support for organisations who are looking to support their workforce.

SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing

At Community business our focus on good health and wellbeing, and our alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3 which seeks to promote wellbeing for all. This is why we wanted to generate something that is applicable and inclusive for all. We have provided activities that span across three areas of wellbeing; mental, physical and social. You’ll find some activities span across all three such as inviting your friend out for an activity, connecting with others benefits your social wellbeing, picking a physical activity like going out for a hike and having conversations and sharing stories benefits your mental wellbeing. This is what we aim to do at Community Business, provide holistic wellbeing solutions to ensure good health and wellbeing.
