An invite-only virtual roundtable for Global Heads of D&I. This DIAN Global Link virtual roundtable provided a window into the pressing issues facing organisations in Asia when dealing with race and culture in the workplace and in business. We provided a market by market analysis of the current climate along with advice and sharing of best practices by leading organisations in the region. It also provided an opportunity for sharing and networking for the group.

Director, Strategy and Marketing at Community Business
Kate Vernon is Director, Strategy and Marketing, based in UK, responsible for driving and overseeing strategic initiatives, research and special projects. As member of the Executive Team, she works closely with Fern Ngai, as CEO, in defining the strategic direction of the organisation to ensure Community Business maintains its position as the leading not-for-profit advancing responsible and inclusive business practices in Asia.
As a leading member of Community Business since 2005, and the author of numerous pieces of research exploring Diversity and Inclusions issues in Asia, Kate has played an instrumental role in building Community Business as an organisation, and establishing and strengthening its position as a thought leader.
Prior to Community Business, Kate worked for 12 years in the private sector, holding senior international marketing positions for global companies such as Reed Elsevier, Aspect Telecommunications, Cable and Wireless, and PeopleSoft.
Graduated from Durham University, Kate holds a Bachelor degree (first class) of Arts in Chinese Studies.

Florence Chan
Senior Manager, Programmes and Development at Community Business
Florence is Senior Manager, Programmes and Development, based in Hong Kong. She is responsible for advising, developing and managing consulting and training programmes.
Florence is a United Kingdom qualified solicitor with comprehensive experience in the legal sector. She studied Law with an interest in human rights and went on to gain experience in human rights, welfare rights, asylum and immigration laws before moving into business immigration, global mobility and employment laws at leading global accounting and consulting firms and law firms.
Over the years, Florence has become increasingly involved with pro bono, corporate social responsibility, and diversity and inclusion. Her interest in thought leadership, inclusive business practices and employee rights in the workplace has led her to join Community Business.
Graduated from The University of Essex, Colchester in the United Kingdom, Florence holds a Bachelor degree of Law. She is native in Cantonese, fluent in English and Mandarin.
