The World Economic Forum predicts that Gen Z will account for one-third of the workforce globally by 2025. This generation has an entirely unique perspective on careers, success, and interactions in the workplace. It is also interesting to observe how intersectionality plays out with Gen Z as they have greater awareness on identities and a more inclusive way of thinking.

Growing up in an interconnected environment, has brought in greater awareness, leading to Gen Zs actively seeking opportunities in organisations where DE&I is an imperative. Also being digital natives, they actively seek AI and technology solutions for their professional use.

This Public Workshop will explore what the new workforce will look like and the unique opportunities and challenges it will bring. It will also address how organisations can adapt and realign strategies to attract and retain top talent from this generation.

Chella Pandian Pitchai

Global Head of DEI, Culture, Values & Belongingness, Leadership Development & Sustainability, Biocon Biologics

Chella Pandian Pitchai is a seasoned HR leader and certified coach with over 25 years of global experience. At Biocon Biologics, he oversees Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Culture, Talent Development, Innovation, and Sustainability. His pioneering strategies have earned him international acclaim, including HR Leader of the Year in Malaysia (2017-2019) and a place among the 501 Most Influential HR Professionals. A prominent TEDx speaker, Chella has lectured at esteemed institutions such as IIM Bangalore, the University of Wales, and ISBR, and has spoken at universities across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. In addition to his professional achievements, he is actively involved in social work as a double-term president of Rotary International, with over 20 years of service across Thailand, Malaysia, and the US.

Satyashiv D'mello

Lead (DEI&W) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Wellbeing and Social Sustainability, Conscious Development

Satyashiv (Shiv) D’mello is a principal consultant at Conscious Development, where he leads Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belongingness (DEI&B) and Social Sustainability initiatives. He is also the Founder Director of YouUbuntu, the organization's well-being division. Shiv's DEI&B work spans various industries, including the creation of one of India's first DEI&B certifications and numerous developmental programs aimed at fostering equity and inclusivity. His global experience includes designing inclusive systems and advising on gender parity through research and policy recommendations. As a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation, Shiv specializes in coaching leaders and multigenerational teams to enhance inclusivity, challenge biases, and address power dynamics. His approach integrates positive psychology, neuroscience, and organizational development to support individual and organizational growth. Shiv's vision is a world where mindful individuals and businesses contribute to a thriving, sustainable planet.

Venika Menon

Lead, Civic Policy & Partnerships, Young Leaders for Active Citizenship

Venika is the Lead for Civic Policy and Partnerships at Young Leaders for Active Citizenship. While she has worn many hats within the organisation, she currently spearheads the Climate vertical, driving citizen-led advocacy, securing partnerships and funding, and maximizing impact across communities. She started her career in New York at Perry Davis Associates, a fundraising consultancy, after which she evaluated a Madhya Pradesh-based project for the World Bank and led donor communications at Challenging Heights, an anti-child trafficking organisation, in Ghana. Most recently, she worked with Teach For India - Mumbai, leading collaborations with the government, TFI alumni, and ecosystem partners. Venika's thematic areas of interest are gender, education, inclusion and sustainable cities. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College in New York, where served as the Senior Class President on the Board of Trustees.
