Increasing Happiness in the Workplace
Latest science and thought leadership highlights that a positive and happy mindset can create a competitive edge, enhancing productivity and performance. In this session we explore why increasing happiness at work is key to both individual and organisational wellbeing and share practical ways to nurture positive emotions in the workplace. -
Building Resilience in the Workplace
The fast-paced, competitive and unpredictable business environment in Asia means that employees are under constant pressure to perform. Our ability to manage stress, be resourceful and bounce back from adversity or difficult situations is critical. In this session, we identify common triggers of stress and explore strategies for building inner resilience. We also examine how to build resilient teams to buffer individual team members against known risk factors and minimise effects of stress. -
Embracing Mental Health in the Workplace
Many may shy away from this sensitive topic, nervous about the language and unsure about how to address in their organisations. However, with the growing incidence of mental health in Asia and the knock-on effect on productivity and performance, opening up conversation and proactively addressing issues relating to mental health is increasingly important for companies. Drawing on our research, we highlight the business case, look at the specific market context in Asia and recommend strategies for companies to embrace a proactive approach. -
FACEs: Understanding Personal Experiences of Mental Health
Adopting Community Business’ signature FACEs approach, we invite workshop participants to listen to the personal stories of professionals with direct experience of mental health issues. We invite participants to work in groups to discuss how as a manager they might better support the individual in the workplace, as well as steps the company can take to increase sensitivity to mental health issues in the wider workplace. This session is particularly powerful in educating about the range of mental health issues employees may experience and highlighting the need to proactively address what is often regarded as a taboo subject.

Managing Mental Health – Proactive Support for Employees
As the first line of support, people managers play a key role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of their teams – yet many may feel poorly equipped to do so. Going beyond the business case for addressing mental health in the workplace, this session is designed to help managers recognise the signs and provide proactive support to a team member who may be struggling with managing their own mental health. Through interactive role plays, we share workplace counselling skills and how to craft an empathetic response, critical to fostering positive mental health.

- Early warning signs and symptoms for anxiety, depression and substance use disorders.
- Facilitating effective conversations using communication, active listening and conflict resolution skills.
- Developing and practising an empathetic response as a practical solution to approaching difficult conversations.
