Overview
A significant 2% of the Indian society identifies as Transgender individuals. Regardless, recognition and acceptance in Indian society is still a struggle for this community. It is only recently that gender diversity in organisations has gone beyond the binary definition and Trans inclusion has been spoken about more openly.
Community Business' latest research publication - Accelerating Trans Inclusion in the Workplace in India aims to be a guiding document that can provide recommendations to help organisations create an environment which is safe for the Transgender community.
The publication focuses on the evolution of the Transgender community in India and the workplace policies that surround them, while acknowledging the legal challenges they have been facing. It spotlights Trans people’s journey to workplace inclusion and understanding the role that experts, DE&I leaders and NGOs have played.
